The ushers take up the offertory collections from all the Masses, sign for the money and place it in the safe. They are responsible for handing the gifts to a couple who take them up to the Altar. If a Mass if toe the special intention of someone, the family is requested to take the gifts to the Altar. We check the Mass Schedule in the bulletin for special intentions. The ushers also seat people as needed and assist the handicapped. They oversee that things go as smoothly as possible and assist the Priest during Mass.
Altar servers can be boys and girls who have received their First Holy Communion, can arrive for Mass about 10 minutes early, and can listen and be well-behaved on the altar. We have a simple dress code for servers; conservative dress clothes and shoes (no flip-flops or tennis shoes, please). Trainings are held the 2nd Saturday of every month at 10:00 am in the Church. Also, on-the-job training at Mass is great!
We are currently in great need of new altar servers,
especially at the Saturday Vigil Mass (5:00 pm)
Please sign up!
